OUR HISTORY

HISTORY AND PURPOSE:

The Center for Spiritual Living St. George (“Center”) was launched on June 5, 2011 in St. George, Utah as a Teaching Chapter, by Reverend Josephine De Los Santos, Founding Minister and Spiritual Leader, and was approved as an official Center in June 2013. Previously, Reverend De Los Santos had established and led the Center for Spiritual Living St. George Study Group and Teaching Chapter for two and a half years (beginning in 2008). Currently, the Center for Spiritual Living St. George is an officially recognized center of the international organization, Centers for Spiritual Living, founded in 1927 by Dr. Ernest Holmes.

As the Center progressed from a Study Group to a Teaching Chapter to an official Center, additional networking opportunities have occurred. Guest lecturers and speakers, bringing their unique workshops, products and services, have attracted new attendees and have broadened the Center’s appeal and outreach. Often speakers present at the Sunday Gathering as an introduction to their message, with workshops subsequently offered as a follow-up and collaborative support to the Center’s message.

The Center provides a spiritual home for like-minded people who seek a personal relationship with God, while honoring all paths to God. This spiritual community honors the inherent goodness and divinity in all humanity, appreciating the rich diversity in the multi-faceted tapestry of our spiritual family. Congregants are a part of an inclusive community that incorporates affirmative prayer, meditation, healing, visioning, and other tools that empower all to participate in a spiritual daily life, positive thoughts and deep love. At the Center for Spiritual Living St. George, understanding and support are the common expressions of love. Many say that finding the Center is like coming home. Spiritual principles are joyfully practiced and honored.

The vision for the Center is to awaken the members of this Southern Utah community to their Divine Nature, to the greatest expression of who we are. The Center is a dynamic gathering place, attracting people of all ages, all religions, all ethnic groups, and all walks of life. The Center feeds the mind, excites the body and allows the Spirit to express fully and openly. Our mission states "The Center for Spiritual Living St. George is an open, loving, and inclusive community that supports thinking creatively and living a deeply spiritual life." We support the Centers for Spiritual Living’s Global Heart Vision” in building “a world that works for everyone.”

The Center for Spiritual Living St. George is dedicated to sharing this philosophy and practical spirituality through Sunday gatherings and certified classes, as well as collaborating with like-minded individuals and organizations. Workshops, retreats, guest lecturers, and other events will share their unique and timely message to all, regardless of religious background or spiritual belief.
