Meditation with Judy Schattner

Sundays, September 3rd & 10th 10:30 am

Judy's involvement in meditation has been varied over the years. In her professional life as a Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist, she facilitated relaxation and stress management workshops at a cardiac rehabilitation program for 12-years. She taught Jon Kabat-Zinn's 8 week mindfulness meditation course in the community and in her private practice.

She finished her 35-year career with a mindfulness-based psychotherapy practice as a way to help people. Personally, she belonged 12-years to a Thich Nhat Hahn meditation group; when she moved to the Blue Ridge Mountains, she began such a group. She continues to be humbled by the practices of this elder meditation master. She is passionate about co-leading meditation for CSL. She believes it helps people live a more divine and spiritual life.

Nacho Arimany is more than a multi-instrumentalist (playing over 100 instruments), he is a translator and a channel for bridging dialogue across and between different cultures: a dialogue expressed through universal rhythms spoken by all of us. While his style is close to Jazz and Flamenco, it has resisted labeling as it is an experience of world and natural sounds combining to paint a picture of humanity across cultures. With influences of oriental melodies, Indian and West African percussion, as well as Flamenco rhythms, Nacho creates a sound which he describes as "a prism with a lot of faces." As an artist who has performed at prestigious large venues around the world including the New York Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall, it is a treat to be able to experience his music within the space of an intimate setting alongside a small group. Tickets are $25 per person at the door. Early Bird price is $20.00 Text 435.669.3546 to purchase tickets. Limited seating.

A Course in Miracles

Meets Mondays

5:30 - 6:30 p.m.

"This is a course in miracles. It is a required course. Only the time you take it is voluntary. Free will does not mean that you can establish the curriculum. It means only that you can elect what you want to take at a given time. The course does not aim at teaching the meaning of love, for that is beyond what can be taught. It does aim, however, at removing the blocks to the awareness of love's presence, which is your natural inheritance. The opposite of love is fear, but what is all-encompassing can have no opposite." Come join with us as we explore and expand!
